ECG Ashanti South General Manager Pays Courtesy Call on Ahafo Ano South West DCE

The General Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for the Ashanti South Region, Ing. George Amoah, has paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Ahafo Ano South West District, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, at the District Assembly in Mankranso.
The visit was to formally introduce himself and also to discuss issues relating to electricity supply and service delivery within the District.
The General Manager was accompanied by the Regional Engineer, Ing. Emmanuel Osei Amoako, the Regional Commercial Manager, Mr Jonathan Asante, the Human Resource Manager, Mr George Ansah, the Premises and Estates Manager, Mr Ebenezer Arthur and the Regional Public Relations Officer, Mr Benjamin Obeng Antwi.
During the meeting, Ing. George Amoah sought to understand the electricity-related challenges confronting the District and reaffirmed ECG's commitment to working closely with the Assembly to improve power distribution and customer service.
Hon. Abubakar Sedik thanked the General Manager for his swift intervention anytime there is a power fault in the District. He also highlighted the need for the extension of electricity to newly developed communities across the District due to rapid expansion.
He noted that several growing settlements are yet to be connected to the national grid and appealed to ECG to prioritise such communities in its expansion plans.
Hon Abubakar Sedik also expressed appreciation to the ECG management for deploying staff to the Mankranso office. He, however, urged the General Manager to further strengthen the office's operational capacity to ensure efficient and timely service delivery to the District's residents.
For his part, Ing. George Amoah appealed to the District Assembly to support ECG's public education efforts by encouraging residents to pay their electricity bills promptly and desist from illegal power connections.
He stressed that payment of bills and the elimination of power theft are essential for crucial service enhancement and sustaining infrastructure.
The meeting ended with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration to enhance electricity access and service delivery in the Ahafo Ano South West District.
Also present at the meeting were the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Hon. Paul Conscious Amagboe, the former Member of Parliament, Hon Johnson Kweku Adu, and the District Coordinating Director, Mr Paul Atsu Agbezudor.
